Healthy Wine Guy's Favorite Wines in Santa Ynez: Solminer

We had a great trip to Santa Ynez in early May 2024. The trip started with a beautiful drive up the coast on the Pacific Coast Highway to the 154, which takes you through the farmlands of the Santa Ynez Mountains. We arrived at Solminer Organic Farm & Vineyard for the members-only pick up party. We had 2 cases of wine to pick up, so instead of having the cases shipped, we decided it would be fun to see the farm and the complimentary wine and cider tasting. So glad we did! The farm is beautiful, with a flock of sheep, donkeys and chickens walking around the land. There were even a few baby sheep that looked only a few weeks old! The tasting was very well done and they had a caterer making fresh pizzas in a pizza oven for lunch (they even made me a dairy-free 🍕!)
My favorites from Solminer Winery:
Pet-Nat Sparkling Wine 2023 - Organic Syrah & Blaufrankisch grapes from DeLanda Estate 11.8% abv/no RS - Delicious natural bubbly that is perfect for a weekend brunch or a nice sunny BBQ.
Dry Riesling 2022 - Organic Riesling grapes from Cocquelicot Vineyard 12.1% abv/ no RS - Not that too-sweet Riesling that you're thinking, this dry Riesling is a refreshing surprise.
Skin Fermented Field Blend 2022 - Organic Riesling, Muscat, Gruner Veltliner grapes 11.5% abv/ no RS - This is the one that put a murky orange wine on the top of my must have list. When I want to introduce my friends to my "weird organic" wines, this is the one that they beg me for more!
Carbonic Syrah 2023 - Organic Syrah grapes 12.7% abv/ no RS - I had never heard of a carbonic wine until I tried this one, now I seek them out and nothing has compared to this one...yet!
